SALIVA ANALYSIS FOR GUM DISEASE CAUSING BACTERIA (ORDERED BY MOST PHYSICIANS) - $295

This test is to evaluate for the presence and concentration of 13 oral bacteria that are implicated in the periodontal disease (gum disease) process. Many of these bacteria have been researched as contributors to other systemic disease processes. Many health professionals have a desire to know if there are harmful bacteria or bacteria in the mouth that may contribute to other health conditions. Test results will come with an interpretation guide.

SALIVA ANALYSIS FOR GUM DISEASE WITH BASIC EXAM DATA (LIVE CONSULT INCLUDED) - $450

This test is to evaluate for the presence and concentration of 29 oral bacteria that are implicated in the periodontal disease (gum disease) process. Many of these bacteria have be researched as contributors in other systemic disease processes. Many health professionals have a desire to know if there are harmful bacteria or bacteria in the mouth that may contribute to other health conditions. Additional diagnostic data will be analyzed. A Medical and Dental History plus 8 photos designed to provide additional oral health information. Anatomical variations, tooth position, number of teeth, condition of teeth and color of teeth will be apparent and when combined with Medical and Dental History data some conclusions and recommendations will be made.

COVID – 19 VIRUS TEST - $175

This test is for the active virus, not for antibodies or antigens.

SARS-CoV-2 is a virus that infects the respiratory epithelium: the cells lining the nose, oral cavity, the trachea, and bronchial tubes. Specifically, the virus binds to receptors on the cell surface called ACE2. Infection involves the virus to be taken up into the host cells where the viral genome consisting of RNA is replicated and packaged to produce new virions.

To diagnose COVID-19 a sample of nasal or oral secretions are collected to look for viral RNA, evidence of the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in that person. The RNA is extracted, then polymerase chain reaction (or PCR) is used to amplify the sequence-specific to SARS-CoV-2. The results of these tests are “Detected” – positive for the virus, “Not Detected” – no virus or so little that it cannot be detected, or “Inconclusive” – the sample is degraded or insufficient in material to perform the test.
